Benjamin Lovell Shoes donates over 100 pairs of stylish shoes from Naot to People's Emergency Center.
Benjamin Lovell Shoes, one of the area’s top shoe retailers teamed up with Naot, the makers of healthful, comfortable and fashion footwear to donate shoes to the women at People’s Emergency Center. PEC nurtures families, strengthens neighborhoods and drives change for women and children in the West Powelton, Sunders Park and Mantua neighborhoods of Philadelphia. “We wanted to take advantage of Naot’s generous offer to donate shoes to people in need, in our marketplace,” stated John Holden, COO and spokesman for Benjamin Lovell Shoes. “As soon as we qualified PEC with Naot and submitted our request, they sent us well over 100 pairs of shoes and sandals to distribute to the women and teens at PEC. Everyone knows how good it feels to get a new pair of shoes for that special event, or that important job interview, and we just wanted to help that happen at PEC,” Holden said.
Families that turn to PEC come with serious problems, and most are headed by single, young mothers who have never lived on their own. “We help our families become self-sufficient by creating a nurturing residential environment, and giving them the training and the life skills to successfully raise their children,” states Grace Hightower, Donations Coordination for People’s Emergency Center. “We provide everything from housing to healthcare, to employment and training for our families, and our community partners like Benjamin Lovell Shoes help us in many unique ways,” said Hightower.

Benjamin Lovell Shoes to donate 100 pairs of kids shoes to Philadelphia youth organization.
Benjamin Lovell Shoes with Philadelphia locations in Rittenhouse, South Street and Manayunk, will donate 100 pairs of kid’s Crocs to Public Citizens for Children and Youth (PCCY), at a recreation center and water “sprayground” in North Philadelphia. PCCY has been working to improve the lives of children in the city and around the region for over 25 years. PCCY is an advocate for boys and girls of all ages, from all neighborhoods, of all races, colors, creeds and ethnic groups.
Tuesday, August 11th at 10:00 am, folks from Benjamin Lovell Shoes will be giving away Crocs to the kids at the Rec Center located at 26th and Master Streets in the Strawberry Mansion neighborhood. “The kids should love these Crocs, they’re perfect for the playground and the sprayground” says Eileen Sheridan, District Manager for the Philadelphia Recreation Department.
We’re always dealing with inventory and moving shoes from our distribution center to our stores, and we got the idea to move these Crocs on to the feet of kids who could really use them. They’re fun, practical shoes and kids love them.” said John Holden of Benjamin Lovell Shoes. “We heard about the fine work that PCCY has been doing through our friends at WXPN and decided to contact them. The rest was orchestrated by PCCY and the City’s department of recreation.” “It’s nice to work with the city and the business community throughout Philadelphia, and this is a great event sponsored by Benjamin Lovell Shoes” stated Louise Pangborn, Development Director for Public Citizens for Children and Youth.
Benjamin Lovell Shoes opened in Philadelphia, on South Street 21 years ago and now has 3 locations in Philadelphia, and locations in Haddonfield, Chadds Ford and Baltimore. They have maintained a history of charitable giving through their Food For Shoes program, and their work through the international organization Soles4Souls.
